If you wish Quake 4 to the cool resolution of your new screen you need to use the same setup as for Doom 3. Easy right As you know both games are ID Software and the same trick works on Qauke 4.

Here are the steps for those who haven't played Doom 3:

1.) Update the game to latest version.

2.) Go to \q4base, and edit Quake4Config.cfg (open file with notepad)

3.) Change these lines to your disered resolution. This is an example for my screen which is 1920 x 1080:

    seta r_customHeight "1080"
    seta r_customWidth "1920"
    seta r_aspectRatio "1"

4.) Save and close file and now you have 1920 resolution the game. The game menu is still the old resolution, but when playing the game is full resolution.

5.) for other screen resolutions do the following:

    seta r_aspectRatio "x"

If your screen aspect ratio is 4:3, change the "x" to "0".
If your screen aspect ratio is 16:9, change the "x" to "1".
If your screen aspect ratio is 16:10 or 15:9, change the "x" to "2".

Last hint: If your screen seems to to flickering a bit when moving your head view round in circles in the game then go to the advanced settings in the game and set vertical sync to ON!

    Be happy all
