FAQ:1. Dual Tournament style? What's that? This diagram:
To explain it, you will be placed in a group with 4 different people. You will then fight to gain 2 victories. If you gain 2 losses you are eliminated from the group. The structure is set so that there will be a total of 5 games to conclude all of the groups. Players will play either 2 of the 5 games (that is they win first two games or they lose them) or play out 3 of the 5 (they lose one and then win one...they must fight a 3rd game with the other person with the 1W/1L to break the tie). 2. Round Robin? What? You will be placed in a group of 4 people, but instead you will fight all three of the opponents in your group for the highest possible score. In theory the players with the scores 3-0 and 2-1 will advance, but it is possible to end up in a tie (and tie breakers will be played). Be warned as if you lose twice in this stage, you will be stuck hoping for certain players to lose their matches to escape playing in the loser brackets (and only to play a tiebreaker match). Lose three times here and you're out to the loser bracket. 3. Grand Final twice to win? Huh? If the winner from the loser bracket wins the final bracket, he must face off the winner from the main bracket all over again in another best of 5 (with the same games). Why? Because it's the price you pay for having a second chance. That's why you want to stay out of the loser bracket if possible. 4. When do I sign up? Probably when I finish my semester. No determined date so far. 5. Who can participate? Anybody can. If you get banned from the site, you automatically forfeit the tournament completely (your opponent will receive a bye. If it's the round robin, you will drop out with an automatic score of 0-3 and any opponents you get matched up with will get an automatic win).
