I have considered piracy if only to test-run a game before I buy it.Rant time. The quality level of games has precipitously dropped in the last ten years to the point where it seems that most games released are still in beta state and have to be patched a dozen times to get them up to an acceptable quality level. I blame consoles for this drop. As game developers make a game for both, they no longer have to have a different game. Essentially the same game will play on both--modern consoles are essentially computers that auto-play whatever you put in them. Developers cater to the console audience which is less picky about gameplay and proper functioning and far more focused on graphics. Pick up any console gaming magazine if you need evidence to this. A popular magazine reflects the tastes of its readers if it is to stay in business. So, companies don't bother with the more aged PC gamer (lets face it, it takes money to be a PC gamer and not a whole lot of youths have the disposable income to drop $4000 a year on parts) who remembers back to the day when games didn't need to be patched. What really infuriates me is that PC games still represent a majority of the market share and companies are telling that 50some% to **** off.
