In the world history class I had to take in High School we had a "world food" day and everyone drew a name of a culture from a hat and we had to bring in food from that culture. I drew Russia and made beef stroganoff and black bread.
But one girl drew Mexico and brought in all sorts of stereotypical Mexican foods, including Red Savina peppers. They were the hottest in the world at the time, but a new cultivar has replaced it.
On a dare, I ate a whole one in one bite. And then I may have blacked out from the pain.
