And they're very smart. They've figured out how to make Hitler into a German and Beethoven into an Austrian.

As for Hitler's demise--he was mentally unstable in the extreme (as was Alexander). By 1945, none of his actions had any root in reality (whether "real" or perceived reality).

I read a little about them in a course on Maghribi history.

Even children who have no concept feel the eerieness of the place.

It's like humans can sense where death has been--it's an animal instinct... from the smell of the soil maybe. Perhaps thousands of gallons of blood fundamentally changes the scent of a place and you just don't consciously notice it.

Or maybe it's truly supernatural.
