I used to see them all the time during summer break, they're pretty cool, and look totally harmless when they're right side up.

This is the only part I have a problem with. There are quite a few members to "model themselves after."

Other than that, you make a valid point about the quality of posts here as of late, but if you want to fix it, then you have alert people of the problem (a.k.a. this blog) and set an example for worse posters through intelligent topics and balancing the serious nature of GD with the carefree attitude necessary for a video game website.

Also, like everyone else, the site's overall posting has never gotten worse. You, like many other posters, is just becoming a better poster yourself. It's natural for the rest of the site's quality of posts to seem like they've declined when in reality they've stayed the same.
