Old, but they still work. For some.

Remember how everyone tried to cheer you up? How you can vent your thoughts to every. single. person. visiting the site. Honestly, I don't know how you put up with it.

If you're going for the Mass Effect series, ME1 is more of an RPG and less of a shooter, all things considered. In ME1 you could easily take cover somewhere and blast the living daylights out of anything that approached you, so long as you used your abilities skillfully.

ME2 is a shooter and barely an RPG. Moving around from cover to cover is more important. Better character interaction, though.

ME3 is more like Gears of War 3 and Mass Effect 1 combined. Lots of sprinting around, running and jumping from cover to cover, etc.

The further in the series you go, the more it turns into a... 'hardcore shooter', I suppose. For some, like me, that's great news as I love fast and intense games. For others, maybe not so much.
