The other side of things hurts a helluva lot worse, let me tell you. Apologies in advance for the wall of text and psuedo-hijacking your blog, but there's a lesson in it, I swear!

Then I met my Katy, genuinely buckled down and was with her for about two years. I was 16 when we started dating in early 2009, she was 19. Late 2010, we found out she was pregnant. Was training to take a job with her dad's tech firm, so things were gonna be alright despite everything. Found out it was a girl in February 2011.

Went on a bender that weekend with some friends to celebrate and wound up needing a ride home, which she provided. Karma struck - she got blindsided by a drunk driver. No serious injury, but she miscarried (quite the painful experience for the mother anywhere beyond the first trimester or so), and was told she'd never be able to conceive again. Woke up one morning to find she didn't have her phone on. Received a call from her brother shortly after: she'd drove back to her home town and ate a gun. Found a note explaining that she didn't blame me, and didn't want me to be the one that found her... as well as an engagement ring she'd intended to give me. Needless to say, already having a family and personal history of depression made suicide a tempting option any time I was forced to stop avoiding thinking about it and/or drinking and/or dosing myself into a stupor. Attempted it once but was interrupted thankfully.

Point is, love hurts. Not being in love hurts. Having both hurts even worse; I haven't had any meaningful interaction with anyone outside of the internet, text messaging, and the odd visit from my lifelong best friend. But still, life goes on. Only advice I can give beyond the above semi-relevant story is to stop telling yourself you can't succeed - though those "think positive and miracles will happen" self-help gurus are full of bull**** obviously. Self-confidence don't come cheap, but you can build it over time. Dig yourself outta that slump you're in.

No, it is not. CH policy is very prohibitive towards trainers being used in anything outside of single-player games.

Love the comics and the show. And the game, to boot.

Theories/Predictions:
Merle is going to learn to be less of a jerkass, then die to save one of the other characters.
Rick is going to get his hand cut off.
Every black character introduced will continue the series' tradition of murdering them horribly.

YES. Love that game. Second one was better, though. Loved 'em both. Why do you ask?

Well, good luck!

Personally I'd go for the authentic experience and train for it/participate in it lugging around a 90+ lbs ruck with one ration a day. But maybe that's just me.

I know this'll sound cold, but up to the point where you turn things around yours' is the story of about half the special operations/covert intelligence personnel in the world. 'Cept they opt to enlist rather than continue on. Good on you.

I've always had a very strange father issue - mine is 50 years older than me. Right as I hit the age where I would've wanted to start sports, he was coming down with serious medical issues. He's too stubborn though, so he'll probably outlive me.

Some advice: Relationships, by and large, are going to turn sour. It's what you make of them before they do that really matters.

I'd also look into seeing a therapist. Emphasis on "therapist," psychiatrists are generally just pill pushers. I've had a wide berth of mental disorders, and the one thing I regret is not quashing them by talking to one. I chose to learn about psychology and sociology - guess that's just my nature.

But yeah, as Shibby said, good on ya for cleaning house, and we don't discriminate here on CH. Hell, if you're ever in need of someone to talk to, I'll personally volunteer - cynical as I may be, I do so love making new friends. Especially ones that need someone good at listening to talk to.

Moving out is a lot like an extremely long vacation. It's awesome and you're excited and crap you really need to go home to do your laundry. And grab the occasional lone decent, edible meal per week or two.

I never roll femPCs as it tends to be a gay thing (no offense, really - my MMO days with my best friends were me, the male healer, with tons of scantily clad women being played by men who'd not yet worked up the courage to come out of the closet) but honestly I think Ash would've been a great choice for lesbian PCs... were she not supplied with Alliance standard breast augmentation surgery (among other beautifications) between games...

Ugh. Still makes my skin crawl.I just want a game where Thane is back, Garrus hijacks the Normandy, and Wrex is there to bake delicious treats native to his homeworld.

If it's any consolation, they made my Ash into a bimbo. So they kind of threw Kaidan and Ash off the slippery slope, somehow. And though I play male PCs and thus didn't have "that" kind of connection to Thane, he was still a pretty damn awesome dude. And really, his line right before he dies is awesome.

I got my retribution with Garrus and Tali by my side. Because Badass Crews stick together.
