WALKTHROUGH - THE TEMPLE OF HELIOS

RETURN TO HELIOS

Place the sun shield on the glowing portion of the floor in front of Kratos to make a glowing bridge appear. Step across the glowing bridge (it lights up as Kratos moves across it) and move toward the middle platform. There is a glowing bridge on the right and left side of the platform. Move across the left bridge then place the sun shield on the door on the far wall to open it.

Kratos is now back in the elevator room. Run down either set of stairs then place the sun shield onto the middle of the elevator to make it move upwards. While it ascends Harplings will attack, so grab one then continue grabbing to defeat them easily.

Once the elevator stops, step off and open the --RED CHEST-- on the right and the --RED CHEST-- on the left. There are plenty of pots around the area to break as well. Move up either staircase then enter the next room at the top. Save your game at the --SAVE PILLAR-- then open the --UNMARKED CHEST (PHOENIX FEATHER [11/19])--.

TEMPLE COURTYARD

Place the sun shield on the door up ahead to open it. Step into the next area and a cutscene will trigger. After the cutscene, a knight wraith will attack. Several fire guards will appear in the back of this area and shoot fireballs at Kratos. Run toward the fire guards (two on each side) and grab each of them to defeat them. Kill them all off then take on the knight wraith. It's best not to break his shield so he will not start to use his full range of attacks - if you're good at deflecting attacks then it is possible to deflect the fireballs
from the fire guards with the sun shield to help out on fighting the knight wraith or defeating the other fire guards.

Now, Kratos has a big puzzle to solve. Before using the sun shield on the middle platform, run to the back of this area and open the --RED CHEST-- in the back right corner.

For the puzzle in this area, Kratos must use statues with glowing shields to reflect light onto the middle horse statue. In order to open the doors where the statues are (two doors on each side), light must be reflected onto the circular light stone on each of the doors. There are four pressure pads around the area that will serve as markers for placing the statues in order to reflect the light and ultimately solve the puzzle.

Follow these steps to solve the puzzle:

1) Place the sun shield in the glowing section of the back middle circular platform to make a crank appear on the middle circular platform.

2) Rotate the crank and make light shine on the left and right doorways in the background so that each of them slide open to reveal a statue with a shield.

3) Pull the left statue (with shield facing left) over to the front left pressure pad and place the statue on that pressure pad.

4) Run back over to the crank and rotate it so that light shines on the statue that you just moved making light reflect onto the back left door. This will reveal a third statue (with shield facing right).

5) Grab the new statue and pull it over to the back right pressure pad and place the statue on top of that pressure pad.

6) Run back over to the crank and rotate it to shine light on the statue with the shield facing right to reflect light onto the back right doorway to open it and reveal the fourth statue (with shield facing forward.)

7) Now that all four statues are out in the open, place them on the four pressure pads spread throughout the area as follows:

The middle statue will not appear until a statue has been placed on all four pressure pads.

8) After all statues have been place correctly, run over to the crank once again and shine light onto the middle stone on the center set of statues.

9) Step onto the glowing circular space that appears on the center platform and use the sun shield to shine light toward the horse statue (step into the glowing space then press L and tap Circle).

10) Run over to the horse statue and place the sun shield on the glowing space below the statue.

Another light rein will shine forth onto another steed outside the temple. The circular middle platform's crank will slide back into the platform and another glowing section will be revealed on the middle portion of the platform.

Run back over to the circular platform and place the sun shield on it. The middle platform will descend further down into the temple.

Once the platform stops, light bridges will be on the right, middle and left side of Kratos. Each side has some breakable objects that may be destroyed for extra red orbs. Move across the left bridge and open the --RED CHEST-- on the right wall. Run back to the center platform and move across the middle light bridge then open the --UNMARKED CHEST (PHOENIX FEATHER [12/19])-- near the left side. To continue, move across the right bridge then place the sun shield on the glowing section of the door at the end to open it.

Follow the hall up ahead then open the --RED CHEST-- in the right alcove at the first turn. Destroy all the breakable objects along the way down the hall then open the --BLUE CHEST-- on the right and the --GREEN CHEST-- on the left near the end if needed then hop up the steps to enter the room at the top.

Run over to the right doorway in room up above then open the --UNMARKED CHEST (GORGON EYE [10/21])-- in the right hallway. This room contains a small puzzle that will activate the final light rein for the outside steeds.

Grab the broken statue in the front of the room then pull it over toward the back wall. It will sink into the floor a bit once placed correctly. Attack the statue and shatter the top broken piece then jump on top of it and stand in the middle of the glowing circle while facing the hole in the wall. Use the sun shield (press L then tap Circle) to shine light into the room behind the wall to make the horse statue up above rise and reveal a glowing indention below it. Climb the rough wall in the middle of the wall in front of Kratos then place the sun shield onto the glowing section of the horse statue to activate the final rein outside.

The door near the horse statue will open and allow Kratos back outside the temple. This will actually lead to the area where Kratos climbed the walls to gain access to the front of the temple. Climb down the rough wall below the walkway. A cutscene will trigger at the bottom of the wall.

Undead soldiers, archers and sirens will attack on the way back to the steeds. Always defeat the archers first by grabbing them and use jumping Triangle attacks on the undead soldiers if they every begin to gang up too much around Kratos.

While moving back across the bridge, you'll have to step onto a rock platform on the left (the camera doesn't showcase the rock path too well). Save your game at the --SAVE PILLAR-- at the end of the second bridge.

RELEASE OF THE STEEDS

Rotate the crank on the pillar below each of the horse statues to make the light reins connect to the horses. The middle circular platform will glow after rotating each crank. Run back over to the middle circular platform then place the sun shield onto the platform for a cutscene that will lead Kratos to the next area.
