WALKTHROUGH - INTRODUCTION

This walkthrough was written while playing through Spartan mode, so some enemy and boss tactics may seem a bit extreme if you play on a lower difficulty but this guide should be able to assist all difficulty types. In order to better organize the walkthrough, each save point (save pillar) has been labeled in the guide with its description that appears on the save screen. All key items, weapons and new magic is displayed with ++'s around them and each chest type is displayed with --'s.

All action cutscene (well, most of them) are listed along with the proper time for each command. Each command is labeled with symbols in which the explanation is described before each action cutscene. You'll find that I enjoy describing action cutscenes, so some of the descriptions tend to go a little overboard at times.

All green, blue, red, and unmarked chests are labeled in the guide. If an unmarked chest might contain a gorgon eye or phoenix feather then the type of item it will contain is displayed in parentheses right next to it. All gorgon eyes and phoenix feathers are numbered based on the ones that I could find. ONCE 15 GORGON EYES OR PHOENIX FEATHERS HAVE BEEN COLLECTED, ALL OTHER UNMARKED CHESTS THAT MAY HAVE CONTAINED THEM WILL HOLD EITHER GREEN OR BLUE ORBS ALONG WITH RED ORBS, so there is no way to collect all the gorgon eyes or phoenix feathers that I have listed. All of them are featured mainly for gamers that happen to skip a few of each on a playthrough.

For the blades of chaos, remember that Kratos' most useful attacks are the Plume of Prometheus (Square, Square, Triangle), the Spirit of Hercules (Triangle, Triangle, Triangle) and jumping Triangle attacks. You can take down quite a few enemies in this game with jumping Triangle attacks. It's amazing how powerful they are, literally grounding some normal enemies within a few hits, and they keep Kratos in the air where he can avoid many attacks.
