Is it possible to put steam into offline mode, unplug your internet, and play this game?

Just tried it out. Internet unpluged and started the game. I get an endless blackscreen and the game is not starting even after 5 mins of waiting. I could edit my Genepoints without any problems so far but thats how far my skill goes. Would love some godmode for solo farming ^^
